My mother went through eminent domain with the infamous Energy Transfer. This is the cruelest law there is. This is also a scam that these rich oil/gas pipelines use "utility" when this is suppose to be used only by local electric/gas companies to have the right-of-way for the good of the community. I will continue to fight to get our laws changed. These pipeline companies should pay a monthly lease to property owners just as the wireless cell towers do up to $2500 per month until it is removed. They gave my mom pennies for putting a 42-in through the middle of her property. This is only a few yards from her house and would destroy everything within a mile if ruptured.

Thank you for making the point! Yet again, state government has failed to exercise its proper role of defending property rights. TransCanada is a privately owned company. The tar sands are being sent to an existing refinery, and jobs are surely needed here. And certainly the U.S. may bid on the end product (the same as every other country), but at what cost? Property rights should be held sacrosanct!

Great article. I believe that people far to often forget that private industry and government are in a cozy mix with our tax dollars. Consider, however bad, private roads do serve a states or cities right; In this case the profits and means "flow" directly to the hands of the entity, then turned into an entity that serves a mass consumers need. This story, if marketed correctly can become a eye opening story into peoples true ownership of proeprty. Tax free property ownership would therefore be a perfect, and beneficial transition.

That's quite a piece. Shoulda coulda been published sooner, say, Oct 26, 2009 or 2010, darn it.

As for the source, devil-be-damned. Anyone with facts exposing any 'for rent'/'for sale' politician and systemic corruption can bring it on. We're all better served. For instance, had S. Palin known of Perry's cronyisms, she would not have supported him in 2010. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/11/23/gingrich_may_have_inside_track_on_palins_endorsement_112159-2.html
By the same token (and I have to hold my nose) I read the Huffington Post. Why??? Because it covers Ron Paul in a possitive way, almost daily. And with hardly a detectible liberal bent as you surely would expect. Also, it's home to Koerner of the Blue Republican.

Just saying, the broader one's horizons, the better for finding common ground and support, and that spells success through strength in numbers. Nowhere do you need that more than in politics. Just so long as principles aren't compromised. IMHO.

There will come a time when the Conservatives will realize they cannot win without confronting the Progressives. We cannot sit back and allow the faults of opponents to go un-reported. McCain, who for the most part was a RINO Progressive, was destroyed because he refused to point out obama's corruption and communistic views. If he had won we would still be deep sh-- , more or less I really can't say.

I have no problem with Debra Media providing the article which includes information I obtained from Stewarts of the Prairie and a little know law which requires the Federal Government must Coordinate with the land owners before they can take any land from them. This was in reference the Texas Corridor.

Prior to the roadblock created by the Coordination Law, deals were made to steal thousand of acres of land from rancher and small cities to further the North American Union and its bid to join Canada, America and Mexico as a new country. The Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) was the working branch of this communist plot and don't think for a moment it has gone away. Why do you think that no president since Eisenhowe has done anything to curb the entry of illegal aliens? Look it up, it's a terrifying read. Anyway that was in 2004 and Perry was Gov. of Texas during that time.

If you question any of the information provided by the article concerning Perry's actions much of it can probably be confirmed. I personally do not disagree that the tactics described fit what Perry would do.
